Channel Islands Heritage Festival

Annual celebration

A fascinating five week focus on the history of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark takes place in early Spring in the form of the Channel Islands Heritage Festival. Explore coastal castles, war bunkers, historic towers and commemorate Liberation Day on 9th May, marking the anniversary of the end of Occupation in Jersey and Guernsey. Visit Guernsey and Jersey Tourism have teamed up to produce an exciting programme of events with heritage attractions throwing open their doors for the heritage festival with a series of exciting re-enactments and festivities.

The flags will be flying high for Liberation Day on 9th May with a day long carnival of remembrance and celebration. Jersey War Tunnels and Guernsey’s Castle Cornet will form focal points for a portrayal of life in the war time islands.
